Description
Following application in the NASA space program, the original specifications were improved and previous difficulties overcome. Design and manufacturing of single units became realizable. The softness characteristics of the silicone rubber makes it possible to design a flexible heater with tight attachment to a curved surface (irregular or cylinder tank shape), and it can replace metal or mica heaters. The flexible heater (standard thickness 0.8/1.2.1.5mm) is a super heat conductor which has been successfully applied in fuel cells, medical appliances, semiconductor machinery, and heat preservation for pipes and plant expansion projects as well as in all kinds of precision machinery plants. Demands for product tests and R&D for the electrical heating industry have been satisfied.
Transferred from O&M Heater Co. of Japan, and manufactured under patent for over 15 years, the silicone rubber heater is suitable for functional tests at the R&D stage and can be ordered as a single unit or for volume production. The Silicone Rubber Heater, with its standard thickness of 1.5mm (0.8-1.2 is also available) is superior with even temperature on a surface and good heat conduct. It is a flexible and thin surface type heater that can replace metal heaters in general.
- The Silicone Rubber Heater is made by patented technology from special silicone rubber material and alloy wires and manufactured with a specified mold which is stable and durable in application. We have great flexibility in taking orders. A single unit order can be designed and completed within five days.
- The Silicone Rubber Heater has been widely applied by all industries for immediate use upon delivery of parts and design with AC or DC external power supply. If required, external outlets can be made for different voltages (12-100 or 200/220-440 volts).
- Its Dual Voltage Design meets customers’ requirement to fit different voltages.
- The Silicone Rubber Heater is a soft, light, thin and pad-shaped silicone rubber heater for stable temperature with a heat tolerance of -60℃~+250℃, which is better than organic rubbers. Features: electrical appliance insulation, easy to fasten on the surface of a heated object and designed to suit the object structure.
- Double-sided tape can be used below 140℃. Heat-tolerant glue can be used within 140℃~200℃.
- The Silicone Rubber Heater is designed to customer’s requirements to fit the surface of circular, triangular or slit objects. Tight attachment can be achieved for irregular or cylindrical tank-type heated objects.

- Recommendations for attachment, adhesion and fixing of heater:
According to our customers’ experience, the best ways are as follows.- Weaving wire fastening method similar to shoe lace fastening for side slit (metal slit) objects.
- Simple hook fastening method for side slit (metal slit).
- Ring-fixed method similar to belt-fixed method.
- Use of double-sided tape to fix the object when using below 140℃.
- Pasting RTV heat preserve fix glue on the backside of the heater to fasten it to the heated object.

- Temperature when in use: Highest safe temperature for continuous use is 200℃. (Projects requiring high temperature not included.)
- Watt Density Design (W/c㎡): According to the temperature required and the heat loss, the standard safe Watt Density is 0.6 (W/cm²); with precise temperature control it is suggested that the highest watt density not exceed 1.5 (W/cm²).
- Voltage duration: 1000V (AC)/1min.
- Minimum radius of curve: 5mm.
- Resistance (Ω): Watt conversion range value (W) ±10% (Ω).
- Power Cable: Standard length is 300mm; standard wire material is Fiberglass cable.
- Maximum area: 700mm x 4000mm. If the heating pad is over-sized, it is recommended to cut it into slices and to connect them, thus lowering difficulties of design and operation.
